The audit process follows a standardized approach. At the start of the audit, we conduct an interim audit where we assess control measures and can advise you on the efficiency and effectiveness of your processes through a management letter. During the year-end audit, we perform data-driven activities and share our key findings in our audit report.
We conduct the audit with a multidisciplinary team, maintaining close contact with our colleagues specializing in areas such as taxation, VAT, labor law, and advisory services.

A statutory audit is a review of a company’s or institution’s financial accountability for public purposes, mandated by the Dutch Audit Firms Supervision Act (Wta). The most well-known statutory audit is the audit of the financial statements required under Article 393 of Book 2 of the Dutch Civil Code (BW2). A company or institution is legally required to undergo an audit if, for two consecutive years, it meets two of the following three criteria:
- Revenue exceeding 15 million euros;
- Total assets exceeding 7,5 million euros;
- More than fifty employees.
Yes, we are. We hold a license from the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) to conduct statutory audits required by the Dutch Audit Firms Supervision Act (Wta). In a statutory audit, the auditor provides a conclusion with a reasonable level of assurance.
Every company is legally required to prepare annual financial statements, but not always to undergo an audit. Upon request by your stakeholders or due to your bylaws, you can opt for a voluntary audit. The content and execution of a voluntary audit are in line with a statutory audit, providing a conclusion with a reasonable level of assurance.
In a review engagement, the work is less in-depth than in a statutory or voluntary audit. The accountant provides a conclusion with a limited level of assurance.
In addition to audits, we offer services such as agreed-upon procedures (Standard 4400N), due diligence investigations, reviews of forward-looking information (such as multi-year plans), and other assurance engagements such as subsidy audits. Lastly, we can also help
prepare your business for an audit.
